The Kelowna Youth In Care Network gives youth in care, aged 12-30, a voice in all matters that directly affect their everyday living through the support and knowledge of former youth in care.
Objectives of the Kelowna Youth In Care Network are to:
- Promote the views and opinions of youth in/from care
- Promote the improvement of conditions for youth in/from care
- Promote services for youth leaving care from the ages 19-30
- Research and report on the special needs of youth in/from care
- Educate the public on these issues
- Encourage support and friendship for youth in/from and out of care
The group meets every third Monday of the month to talk about issues that directly involve youth in Care. Fall programming will include numerous fun outings. We encourage all youth in care to attend our meetings and community outings.
The Kelowna Youth In Care Network is funded by the Ministry of Children and Family Development and Kiwanis Summit Club.
