The Bridge Youth and Family Services works together with children, youth, parents and families to build healthy and positive relationships within their families and communities.
Core Values
Children's Needs
Meeting the needs of children and families within the community is maintained as the Society's highest ideal. It is against this that all its activities are ultimately measured. The Society remains sensitive to the changing needs of children and families within the community and assumes the initiative in assisting them to meet those needs through the provision of innovative and quality programs.
Quality Service
The Society, in the delivery of its programs, is effective and professional. It implements ongoing measures of effectiveness, keeps abreast of the most current research in related fields, and attempts to meet the most current standards of service within the community. It subscribes to a code of ethics and ensures accountability to the community and the people it serves.
Community Resource
The Society is a good community citizen. It cooperates and forms partnerships with other community agencies, both governmental and non-governmental, for the purpose of providing quality service for children and families within the community. It openly and freely shares information and resources that will enhance the lives of children and families.
Support for Families
The Society believes that the family unit, in all its diversity, is the basic building block of society and actively supports the family's efforts to meet the needs of its members.
Individual Rights, Growth, and Empowerment
The Society believes that all individuals have the capacity for positive change and growth. Wherever possible, it provides individualized programs and safe, positive, and nurturing services which foster individual growth, development and positive self-esteem.
The Society recognizes and supports the fundamental rights of individuals. It believes that services that are voluntary, involve the program participant, and employ the least intrusive method in the shortest period of time is most respectful of program participants' rights.
Human Resources
The Society values people as its most important resource. The Society achieves its mission through the work of its volunteers and employees and ensures that they are adequately trained, supported, and rewarded. The Society achieves congruence between individual and organizational goals and fosters the concept of teamwork.
Outcome Orientation
The Society believes that an outcome orientation and feedback is essential to providing effective service. The Society monitors the effectiveness of its services through a regular survey of program participants.
