Youth in Care Network @ The Wellness Centre

Come join us for ongoing sessions on the second Monday of each month at The Bridge Wellness Centre on Cadder Ave. A variety of activities will be organized on these nights and supper will be provided. For more information or to let us know you’re coming, contact Danielle or one of The Bridge counsellors.

The fourth Monday of each month is our Night Out activities:

  • Jan. 28: Tubing @ Big White 4-9 p.m.
    • Meeting at The Bridge at 4 p.m.
    • Drop off at 9 p.m.
    • We will be tubing and eating supper together.
  • Feb. 25: Swimming @ H2O 4-7 p.m.
    • Come have a swim and a bite to eat together at Kelowna’s H2O Adventure Centre!
    • Pick up and drop off will be in the lobby at the front entrance.

  • Mar. 25: Scenic Canyon Greenway 4-6 p.m.
    • Come for a stroll on the beautiful Scenic Canyon Greenway
    • A picnic meal and drinks will be provided
    • Pick up and drop off will be in the parking lot at the Hollywood Road S entrance
  • Apr. 22: Adopt-A-Stream @ Golfview Park 4-6 p.m.
    • Join us in our efforts and seize the opportunity to help keep Kelowna’s streams healthy and beautiful.
    • We have taken the responsibility for a section of a local stream by using equipment to pick up litter and pull noxious weeds.
    • A special supper at the DQ close by will be our much deserved reward!

Prenatal Wellness @ Kelowna Family YMCA

Prenatal wellness is FREE for everyone! This wellness program includes weekly fitness classes and exercise guidelines, nutrition tips, healthy lifestyle tips, and connections to a great wealth of knowledge in your community. Attend fitness classes as early in your pregnancy as possible, and stay with us after your baby is born! With six rotating topics, choose when to attend each session for a program individualized to your needs.

No registration required. This informative program is offered at the Kelowna Family Y. Tuesdays 6:00 pm Yoga (Group Fitness Studio) 7:00 pm Education Childminding is available during class times on Tuesdays. Thursdays 7:15–8:00 pm Deepwater Aquafit (Dive Tank)

Beyond the Blues @ The Bridge Youth & Family Services

Beyond the Blues Postpartum group is a therapeutic and educational program designed for women experiencing postnatal symptoms of anxiety and/or depression. The group aims to strengthen mental health and well being, while developing positive relationships with children and family.

During the eight week (1 ½ hour) sessions, women are provided opportunities to socialize, find support, and to learn coping and self-care tools. The group is a safe place to gain these skills. Child-minding is available at no cost.

This program is provided at no cost to families, thanks to our generous funders* and donors.

Special Deliveries is a weekly prenatal program that offers:

  • A nutritious lunch
  • Prenatal vitamins (at no cost)
  • Food certificates to enhance healthy eating
  • Information on healthy eating during pregnancy
  • Information on breastfeeding

The program receives visits from a Public Health Nurse to discuss topics of interest.

Etcetera Youth Group @ Foundry Kelowna

Etcetera is a weekly, facilitated program where youth ages 11-14 and 14-18 who identify as LGBT2Q+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, 2 Spirit, Intersex, Pansexual…etcetera) and their allies can meet supportive peers in a safe environment.

No registration required.

4:30-5:30PM ages 11-14

5:30-6:00PM all ages

6:00-7PM 14- 18

We do social activities, hold special events, conduct empowerment and healthy relationship discussions, and engage other areas of interest for our young people.

Parenting Your Anxious Youth @ The Bridge Youth & Family Services

Come meet for free with other parents and caregivers who are on the same journey.

The five-week group sessions for parents and caregivers of youth aged 12-16 will feature conversations about:

  • What anxiety is and how it works
  • Skills to communicate with your anxious youth
  • How to better understand your youth’s experience
  • Skills to help your youth cope
  • Skills to manage situations in which your youth’s anxiety impacts daily life

Parent Talk @ The Bridge Youth & Family Services

Come and see the difference a morning can make!Parent Talk is a time to connect with other moms, dads and caregivers while you add some tools to your parenting tool box. Join us for a break and meet with other adults while children are supervised in our playroom. Weekly sessions include a talk related to parenting, wellness and child development.

There is no cost to attend Parent Talk, thanks to our generous funders* and donors and no registration required.

Coffee, tea and healthy snacks are provided for adults. Please bring a water bottle and a healthy nut-free snack for your child(ren).
