The Bridge Youth & Family Services has made the difficult decision to suspend all of its group activities for the time being. This includes our parenting and family programs, Naloxone training, and Etcetera – amongst others. Should any participants of our social support programs need our assistance during this time, please call us and we’d be most pleased to touch base with you by phone, text, email or – if possible – in-person. Call our main number at 250.763.0456 and ask to speak to anyone you’re familiar with. We are still here for you. All other programs of The Bridge are open for business and we look forward to serving you through our Family and/or our Recovery and Addictions services.
Naloxone 1

The Bridge offers free training on how to administer Naloxone as a response to the provincial overdose crisis and public health emergency. The training takes approximately one hour and our award-winning nursing staff will teach you:

  • How to recognize an opioid overdose
  • How to administer Naloxone in an overdose situation
  • Hands-on training to properly perform the injection
  • All participants will leave with a Naloxone kit and the knowledge on how to use them properly

Naloxone is a form of first aid in situations involving an opioid overdose. We strongly encourage all members of our community to be ready to deliver this life-saving medication. Evidence shows members of the public can effectively respond to opioid overdoses, as waiting for Emergency Medical Services can have fatal consequences.

Naloxone kits can be picked up for free from Adult Withdrawal Management at our Hwy 33 facility or our main office on Enterprise Way.

If you are unable to attend a training session at The Bridge, online training is available at the Toward the Heart website.
