The Bridge Youth & Family Services has made the difficult decision to suspend all of its group activities for the time being. This includes our parenting and family programs, Naloxone training, and Etcetera – amongst others. Should any participants of our social support programs need our assistance during this time, please call us and we’d be most pleased to touch base with you by phone, text, email or – if possible – in-person. Call our main number at 250.763.0456 and ask to speak to anyone you’re familiar with. We are still here for you. All other programs of The Bridge are open for business and we look forward to serving you through our Family and/or our Recovery and Addictions services.

Transition suites provide young people, including pregnant or parenting youth, with self-contained accommodation that offers a realistic living experience. Each suite has a mentor on-site for support and young people are assisted to gain or enhance life management skills with the assistance of the mentor and a Youth Transitions counsellor. Life management skills include financial management, household maintenance, menu planning and food preparation.

The Transition Suites are considered part of the foster home support network under the direct supervision of the Resources Unit of Ministry of Children and Family Development.

Transition Suite Mentors maintain a collaborative working relationship with The Bridge Youth & Family Services and the Ministry of Children and Family Development. Mentors provide a high standard of service for the youth residing within the Transition Suite, through ongoing training and skill development opportunities, and with continued support from the Youth Transitions counsellors and Transition Suite facilitator.
